To answer your question about bloglines, it's a way of tracking whether blogs you visit have updated. Go to bloglines.com and then sign up (free). After that you can add all your favorite blogs by cutting and pasting the url into the program and it'll tell you who has updated. If you save it to your favorites on your account page you never even have to sign in! Brilliant!!
