Ryver has a fractured tibia. For those of you who don't know what that is (as I didn't) it is your shin bone, basically. So my little baby has a little baby cast on her chubby little leg. So sad!
As I mentioned in the last post, Mychigan tripped and fell on Ryver. She must have landed on her strange or really hard. We really didn't think it had done that much damage, besides the bloody knees Mychigan got. But throughout the day and the night, she was extra fussy and wouldn't put any weight on her leg when I would stand her up. She would crawl, but since you really don't use that bone when you crawl, she could do it. She was pretty happy still, but if you moved her wrong or bumped her leg, she cried. So to the Dr. we went. He felt her leg up and down and found where it hurt, and ordered X-rays. Those didn't hurt, she was more just scared of the big people holding her down. Then more waiting...we did a lot of waiting today. They finally got back to me and told me "she has a tiny fracture, so you need to go back to the Doctor's office and get a tiny cast".
All this running around and Ryver was exhausted. She fell asleep in my arms at the Dr. and I thought she would wake up when they started putting the cast on...nope. She was out like a light!
She doesn't seem to notice it's there really. Moving is a bit more cumbersome, but she is doing it! She even crawled on it tonight!

I picked orange. I could have picked pink or purple, but when Daisy broke her arm, she had both of those. I wanted something different. And bright. I would say that it is, huh?
All in all it was a rough day, but she will be OK. Like I said before, it could have been much worse!!!

Poor baby! Yikes! That isn't a tiny cast at all! It covers her whole leg! I'm glad that she doesn't seem to notice it and that she still crawls on it. Also it must have been nice to have her sleep through the casting process. Poor tired girl! Hope she heals fast and well.
Poor thing! Hope she stays happy
xx
Oh, poor baby! I hope she heals quickly!
Oh, poor baby!! I'm glad she's still her happy little self. I hope she'll heal well and fast!
Poor little girl!! I feel bad for her but she also looks so cute!!! I like the orange!!
Oh, would you just look at that adorble baby-sized cast! Poor girlie. I think you're pretty in tune to realize she had something wrong; it would've taken me 2 weeks to clue into it.
what a happy kiddo! i am loving the orange!
poor little sweetie though huh? tired baby.
glad it was not a whole lot worse!
Oh, I am so sorry! That is so sad but it sounds like she is a trooper! She must have such a naturally sweet disposition. But oh I am sorry for her- and you!
I can't believe that she slept through it AND that she is smiling and crawling with it on! What a sweetheart. How long does she need to keep it on? Hopefully it won't get too warm and uncomfortable! Watch her at playdates...I met my Hubby when I had a cast on up to my knee! ;)
your poor baby! Awwww!!
Oh my goodness Steph! Holy Cow, is she okay? I'm so sorry, how stressful is that? Poor sweet pretty baby girl!!
I love her bright orange cast!
Awhh bless her heart!! Hope she does okay with the cast!
Well I'm glad that she's okay, poor thing! that is amazing that she slept through that whole thing! I wish I could sleep through procedures like that (without getting drugs first, of course. Nevermind.. give me the drugs.).
Good to see you! I haven't been around much lately myself.
Poor little thing. Glad to hear that she's doing good, considering.
Oh NO!!! Poor little thing! Glad she's happy, though, and doesn't even notice. *SIGH* To be a baby again... LOL!
