Sabryna is in 6th grade this year. (WHAT?!? How did that happen?) In 6th grade the students have the choice to join the band. She has decided she wants to play an instrument. She's following in the footsteps of her dear old mom and dad. We were both band nerds. And proud of it. She hasn't chosen either one of the instruments that we played, she has chosen the Flute. I think she looks beautiful with it, even if she doesn't know how to play yet, but I may be a little bit biased.

Well, she LOOKS like a natural.
I have a sixth grader this year too -- how did that happen?
I bet she was so glad to get rid of glasses and braces! And bring on the music!!!
How are you feeling? Any boy or girl vibes yet?
How exciting. I remember the day of choosing an instrument. sigh.....when did I get so old?
happy PSF!
ahh, don't you just love a nice well-behaved band geek? I am the mother of 4. Here’s my photo story. happy Friday!
She looks like she's already getting the hang of it. My brother took up the trombone at that age...after living through that experience (he LOVED it and played 24/7) I'm kind of hoping my kids DON'T play an instrument. LOL
You're a good mom... I think it would drive me nuts! I'm just not that nice! :)
It is so wonderful that kids choose to develop new talents in the music field. But it's unfortunate that we as parents have to listen to those first squeaky notes for the first 2 years.
If you'd like to stop by my blog I'm at Cake Crumbs.
Hey I play the flute! It is so fun! My teacher had me practice with a lit candle. It was strange but I got it down in no time. She looks cute!
