Love

I love it when my girls are asleep and the house is quiet for the night. It's my favorite time of the day. Not that I don't love all the other moments with them throughout the day, I so do, it's just nice to heave a great sigh after all is quiet again and have a thought to myself. Not to mention it's always nice to get 'the witching hour' done with! Mornings are great waking sleepy kids to get ready for school, and afternoons having them come home and excitedly tell me about their day. Then all the running around for piano, soccer, and other various errands. I love it, I really do. It's just this quiet of night, checking on my sleeping angels, wondering how I got so lucky and so blessed to be the mother of these four beauties! Aren't kids just Angels when they are sleeping? I could just stare at them forever while they sleep. They bring me to tears when they sleep. They are so beautiful, so wonderful, so magical, and they are mine! I often wonder what I did to deserve them, I feel so inadequate as a teacher, as a leader, as a mom sometimes it's overwhelming. Why do they shower their love on me? What am I but a flawed human being? But they don't see me as that, and for that I am so grateful. In their eyes I am beautiful, and good, I am their mom. What a great responsibility that is. What a great blessing. I am so grateful that I have been given the opportunity to be a mother to these beautiful spirits. I can only hope that I will be able to be everything they need me to be. I hope I don't let them down. And I hope they will someday know how very much I love them.
